Although the isolate was highly resistant to clarithromycin in vitro, the patient improved clinically as symptoms disappeared. Results of stool cultures taken 5 weeks after resolution of clinical symptoms were negative. The clinical course of this patient’s illness suggests that S. Agama may cause self-limiting infections and asymptomatic shedding, as do other nontyphoidal Salmonella infections. The course of disease may be affected by the ingested infective dose, host factors, and virulence of S. Agama isolates.

Increased Prevalence of Anellovirus in Pediatric Patients with Fever
The Anelloviridae family consists of non-enveloped, circular, single-stranded DNA viruses. Three genera of anellovirus are known to infect humans, named TTV, TTMDV, and TTMV. Although anelloviruses were initially thought to cause non-A-G viral hepatitis, continued research has shown no definitive associations between anellovirus and human disease to date. Using high-throughput sequencing, we in...
متن کاملDetection of Torque teno midi virus/Small anellovirus (TTMDV/SAV) in the sera of domestic village chickens and its vertical transmission from hen to eggs
Although the infection of different animals and non-human primates with other members of Anelloviridae have already been reported there is no report about infection of animals with Torque teno midi virus/Small anellovirs (TTMDV/SAV). The aim of this study was to detect the virus in domestic village chickens. Blood samples were collected from 79 domestic village chickens in Isfahan. Blood sample...
متن کاملIdentification of novel anelloviruses with broad diversity in UK rodents
Anelloviruses are a family of small circular ssDNA viruses with a vast genetic diversity. Human infections with the prototype anellovirus, torque teno virus (TTV), are ubiquitous and related viruses have been described in a number of other mammalian hosts. Despite over 15 years of investigation, there is still little known about the pathogenesis and possible disease associations of anellovirus ...
متن کاملViral metagenomics reveal blooms of anelloviruses in the respiratory tract of lung transplant recipients.
Few studies have examined the lung virome in health and disease. Outcomes of lung transplantation are known to be influenced by several recognized respiratory viruses, but global understanding of the virome of the transplanted lung is incomplete. To define the DNA virome within the respiratory tract following lung transplantation we carried out metagenomic analysis of allograft bronchoalveolar ...

Since 1997, groups of novel nonenveloped DNA viruses with a circular, single-stranded (negative sense) DNA genome of 3.6-3.9 kb, 3.2 kb, or 2.8-2.9 kb in size have been discovered and designated Torque teno virus (TTV), Torque teno midi virus (TTMDV), and Torque teno mini virus (TTMV), respectively, in the floating genus Anellovirus. These three anelloviruses frequently and ubiquitously infect ...
